Friends and relatives today revealed a mother's heartbreak after her two young sons were strangled by a 100-pound snake in their sleep after it escaped from a pet store below.
Mandy Trecartin's sons, sux-year-old Connor Barthe and four-year-old Noah Barthe, were found at 6.30am on Monday after the African rock python somehow escaped from his enclosure, slithered through the building's air ducts, punched a hole in the ceiling and fell on the sleeping brothers.
Their lifeless bodies were discovered by Jean-Claud Savoie, Ms Trecartin's best friend and the owner of the pet store beneath the apartment, Reptile Ocean in Campbellton in New Brunswick, Canada.
