“I don’t do cheap money” Wizkid mocks unilag students after his arrest

Wizkid and his manger were invited by men of the Nigeria Police Force -  Zone 2 Command, Onikan, yesterday June 19th after students of the University of Lagos reported the music star to the police.

The students claim that Wizkid collected N500,000 from them as full payment for a show that was supposed to hold at UNILAG Sports Centre on May 24th tagged Concert of Life.

They claim Wizkid didn’t show up for the show and didn’t return their money so they went to the police.

Wizkid was at Zone 2 for a few hours yesterday afternoon with his team.

He was bailed by his lawyer after he wrote a statement and was asked to report back to the station next week.

Hopefully, Wizkid’s camp will eventually release a statement clearing the air but in the meantime, Wizkid tweeted this to confirm he does not have any agreement with the students:

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested Gazali Akewadola, a self-proclaimed Islamic cleric and native doctor, for selling human parts. The 60-year-old suspect was also accused of killing people and using their parts for ritual purposes.

He said, “I am an Islamic teacher and a cleric and I own an Islamic school in Owode, Yewa. I am also married with eight lovely children. I am also a native doctor. I cure people of ailments and help those who want to become rich quick. I use human parts to prepare charms and concoctions for them.”When asked if he could sell the parts of his own children, he said “God forbid! I do ritual because the money I make from sales is used for the well-being of my children…

“Also, if I had killed my children and sold them, it could have aroused suspicion and my relations might expose me but if the people I use for the ritual are brought from far away, it is safer for me and my business.”The police disclosed that Gazali kewadola is a member of the gang that was recently arrested for exhuming corpses and selling their parts in Lagos. According to Police authorities, Gazali kewadola was nabbed after the 5 suspects that were initially arrested made confessional statements and led policemen to his hideout. Gazali kewadola, who is presently in custody of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, claimed he joined the illegitimate business because he needed the money to take care of his eight children.
Gazali kewadola, a native of Owode Yewa, Ogun State, said he initially started buying heads from Sanni at the cost of N3,000 but Sanni later increased the price to N8,000.
He said after sometime, he discovered that this was not lucrative and then decided to start buying human beings and then dismembering the corpses which he would use for various purposes. He confessed that he ate some of the parts while the other parts were used in making charms for his customers.
He said a full live human being cost between N30,000 and N40,000.
He said, “It is cheaper to buy a live human. You get a lot of parts from it and it is more powerful because the efficacy of the charm or concoction you prepared with fresh parts cannot be compared with the ones you prepared with parts you got from the grave.
“For instance, a live human being will give you blood. There is charm you can prepare with it. The same body will give you hairs from private parts, head and moustache. You can also cut out private parts. Each part of human being is useful. Even the meat and intestine, liver, heart, eyes, lips, tongues can be used for pepper soup.
“If you buy full human being for N30,000 or N40,000 and dismember it, you can end up getting N100,000 or more because you get more than ten parts and can yield good money.”
When asked why he ate human parts, he said, “It tastes so good and better than animal meat especially when taken with hot drink, or wine or beer but the most essence of eating it is to assure those who patronise us that it is eatable and sweet, and of spiritual and physical benefits. It can cure serious illness and can make one get rich quick.”
The suspect, who was not remorseful for his crime, said his only regret was that he had not become as rich as he wanted to be. He feared that following his arrest, he would die a pauper.
“My regret is that I did not become rich even after selling human parts. I even found it difficult to feed my family sometimes,” he said.

It would be recalled that Punch had reported on May 22, 2013, that the police arrested five members of a syndicate, for selling human parts in Owode, Ogun State. Gazali Akewadola is the “main” man.

A scrap plane formerly owned by late Apostle Gabriel Oduyemi of Bethel Ministries, Ajah, Lagos, caused panic in the city on Thursday as rumour spread that another aircraft had crashed in Lagos.
It was learnt that the plane, which was recently released to Capt Matthew Ekeinde, husband of Nollywood star, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, was being dragged to Badagry area of the state before its tyre burst. The incident forced Omotola’s husband to dump the plane at a filling station…

Residents trooped out with their smart phones and camera, and queued behind the gate of Dapsey Oil filling station at Igando where the plane was parked, wondering how the plane “crashed” land.A senior employee of the filling station said the plane, with registration number N972TF, was being towed from Muritala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja to Badagry when one of the tyres burst. He said, “The plane was brought here around 2am after one of its tyres burst. It was being towed by a red vehicle, but after it got to Igando, they discovered it would be difficult to get it to its destination with burst tyre, which was why they brought it here.”
Some residents of the area later turned the scene into an amusement park and began to pose and take shots near the plane.
Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, Nnamdi Udoh, in a statement, said “The aircraft was actually released to Capt Ekeinde who will be using it for educational purposes in Badagry, Lagos.”
Capt. Ekeinde confirmed to Punch that the scrap plane belonged to him. He said, “The aircraft will be situated in a multipurpose and entertainment centre which wlll be open very soon. When opened, the centre will be the first of its kind in West Africa.”

 Khan committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at around 11:45pm in a bedroom of her Juhu residence in Mumbai on the Monday, June 3, 2013.

Her body was taken to the casualty morgue of the Dr R.N. Cooper Hospital in Vile Parle. Police later sent the body to the JJ Hospital in Byculla, for a forensic examination and autopsy.

Her body was brought back to her residence around 7am on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, following the Post-mortem.

 In the same day her Namaz-e-janaza took place at Sonapur Kabar Walla Masjid and she was buried at Juhu Muslim cemetery after Zohar prayer as per Islamic rites.

Bollywood actors in attendance included Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, Riteish Deshmukh, Siddharth Mallya, Sophie Choudry, Urvashi Dholakia, Prem Chopra, Ranjeet, Deepak Parashar, Sanjay Khan and Naghma in attendance.

Bollywood stars reacted with shock at her death. On June 7, 2013, a 6 page suicide note was found by her sister. The note is reported to indicate that she had planned to end her life. Below given is a transcript of Jiah's handwritten letter. These are scanned snapshots of the original letter as released by Khan's family.

“ I don’t know how to say this to you but I might as well now as I have nothing to lose. I’ve already lost everything. If you’re reading this I might have already left or about to leave. I am broken inside. You may not have known this but you affected me deeply to a point where I lost myself in loving you. Yet you tortured me everyday.

These days I see no light I wake up not wanting to wake up. There was a time I saw my life with you, a future with you. But you shattered my dreams. I feel dead inside. I’ve never given so much of myself to someone or cared so much. You returned my love with cheating and lies. It didn’t matter how many gifts I gave you or how beautiful I looked for you. I was scared of getting pregnant but I gave myself completely the pain you have caused me everyday has destroyed every bit of me, destroyed my soul.

I can’t eat or sleep or think or function. I am running away from everything. The career is not even worth it anymore. When I first met you I was driven, ambitious and disciplined. Then I fell for you, a love I thought would bring out the best in me. I don’t know why destiny brought us together. After all the pain, the rape, the abuse, the torture I have seen previously I didn’t deserve this.

I didn’t see any love or commitment from you. I just became increasingly scared that you would hurt me mentally or physically. Your life was about partying and women. Mine was you and my work. If I stay here I will crave you and miss you. So I am kissing my 10-year career and dreams goodbye. I never told you but I received a message about you. About you cheating on me. I chose to ignore it, decided to trust you. You embarrassed me. I never went out, I never went with anyone else.

I am a loyal person. I never met anyone with Karthik I just wanted you to feel how you make me feel constantly. No other woman will give you as much as I did or love you as much as I did. I can write that in my blood. Things were looking up for me here, but is it worth it when you constantly feel the pain of heartbreak when the person you love wants to abuse you or threatens to hit you or cheats on you telling other girls they are beautiful or throws you out of their house when you have no where to go and you’ve come to them out of love or when they lie to your face or they make you chase after them in their car. Or disrespects their family.

But you were never my partner. My future is destroyed my happiness snatched away from me. I always wished the best for you, was ready to invest what little money I had in your betterment.

You never appreciated my love, Kicked me in the face. I have no confidence or self esteem left, whatever talent whatever ambition you took it all away. You destroyed my life. It hurt me so much that I waited for you for ten days and you didn’t bother buying me something. The Goa trip was my birthday present but even after you cheated I still spent on you. I aborted our baby when it hurt me deeply. You destroyed my Christmas and my birthday dinner when I came back.

When I tried my hardest to make your birthday special. You chose to be away from me on Valentines Day. You promised me once we made it to one year we would get engaged. All you want in life is partying, your women and your selfish motives. All I wanted was you and my happiness you took both away from me. I spent money on you selflessly you would throw in my face. When I would cry for you. I have nothing left in this world to live for after this.

I wish you had loved me like I loved you. I dreamt of our future. I dreamt f our success. I leave this place with nothing but broken dreams and empty promises. 20 Year Old Girl Narrates How White Man’s Dog Broke Her Virginity 

A 20-YEAR-OLD girl of Kalulushi has told the Ndola High Court how she lost consciousness and had sex with a dog at a known man’s residence in November 2011.

This is in a case in which Evert Jan Wolf, 68, a Dutch consultant, has sued reporter Alex Njovu and the Zambia Daily Mail Limited for libel as first and second defendants, respectively.

In a writ of summons dated February 20, 2012, Mr Wolf is claiming damages for defamation by libel contained in the newspaper article of February 2, 2012 entitled ‘Wolf charged for dog sex’.

When the matter came up for defence before Ndola High Court judge Petronella Ngulube on Monday, the girl, who is the newspaper’s witness in the case, narrated how she allegedly had sex with Mr Wolf’s dog in 2011.

Under examination in chief conducted by Zambia Daily Mail Legal Counsel George Zulu, the girl told the court:

“We went to Mr Wolf’s house in November 2011. It was raining on that day and we were in our school uniforms. We were advised to take off our uniforms and hang them and we were told to remove our underwear since they were wet.”

She testified that Mr Wolf allegedly told her and her friends to take off their clothes and gave them T-shirts.

The girl said after she and her friends took off their uniforms, a friend who took them to Mr Wolf’s residence identified as Maria served them some drinks.

“Maria is the one who brought the drinks. I took the drink and afterwards I felt drowsy. I told Maria that I was feeling sleepy and she told me to go and sleep in a room that she usually sleeps in when she goes to the house.

“Maria took me to the room and I slept. When I woke up,I found a dog on top of me…. I pushed it aside. I did not know what happened but I realised that something had happened. I was a virgin before that,” the girl testified.

During cross-examination by Mr Wolf’s lawyer, Derrick Mulenga, the girl denied being among the girls who were taken to the police for allegedly stealing Mr Wolf’s money.

She told the court that she knows the signs of the loss of virginity.

“I came to know that my virginity was gone when the dog had sex with me. It was painful and I was bleeding,” the girl said.

And Zambia Daily Mail Bureau Chief in-charge of the Northern region Jerry Munthali testified that he assigned Mr Njovu to cover a riot in Kalulushi.

Mr Munthali said the residents ran riot over allegations that a man was forcing young girls to have sex with his dog.

He said the headline ‘Wolf charged for dog sex’ was used as a metaphor, as it is the case with most newspapers.

Mr Munthali said the story was truthful because the Copperbelt commissioner of police is a credible source of information.

He argued that the riot in Kalulushi was sparked by allegations that Mr Wolf was forcing some girls to have sex with his dog.

But Mr Mulenga insisted that the story was defamatory and highly sensational as there was no paragraph in it quoting Ms Tembo saying Mr Wolf was forcing young girls to have sex with his dog.

But Mr Munthali insisted that police decided to charge Mr Wolf with defilement and indecent assault.

The court set August 8, 2013 for judgement.

The Ogun State Police Command, Sunday, said it has arrested one Dr. Babawale Joshua who owned Ajike Medical Centre at 11, Adeyemi Street, Saka, Sango Ota, for suspected ritual activities and disrespect to the corpse of a 13-month-old baby who died in his hospital, Saturday.
According the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, for the state, Mr Muyiwa Ogunjobi, the police discovered that the boy’s corpse was mutilated. He told Vanguard that the eyes, tongue, two lips, two ears, private part, nails and the left hand and veins were cut off at the hospital.

Father’s account 

In his account of what happened, the child’s father, identified as Obinna Oleh, a 35-year-old auto spare part dealer at Ladipo market, from Umunze village in AnambraState, said: “On Friday the 7th of June, my child took ill, my wife joined me to rush him to the hospital.
“The next day, being Saturday, I came to see them at the hospital in the morning before going to my shop while the child was actually getting better then.
“It was with this hope that I left for my shop thinking that at least before the end of the day, the child would have recovered fully.

“But in the afternoon, my wife called to inform me that the baby’s health had deteriorated, that I should rush home. When I got here, I met my child in a very critical condition.
“I asked if any medication had been administered on him and my wife told me that the doctor gave him an injection that afternoon and that the child’s stomach swelled after the injection.
“The baby was practically abandoned by the hospital management in this condition until around 8p.m when he finally died.

“As we attempted to carry the corpse, the nurse in charge said we had to clear our bills before we could take the body away. She also said she needed to call the Medical Director for the full amount we were to balance before they could release the corpse to us.
“Mind you, we were not owing them before the baby died. We made some initial deposit prior to the baby’s admission and treatment. So when the nurse came up with the balance payment issue, I was not in the mood to argue that with them. I took my wife and we left, with the intention of returning yesterday morning to clear what ever bill there was, and take our child for burial.
“Also our pastor advised us to get a death certificate first before taking the corpse away for burial, so that we don’t encounter any problems with the police.

“We also needed to inform our kinsmen here about what happened. These were the reasons why we left the body of our baby at the hospital till the following morning.

Pastor Arrested In Imo State For Sexually Molesting 17yr Old Boy

The Imo State police command has nabbed a 28 year old Pastor of Jesus Army salvation ministries; Mr Chinonso Obiaku in Amalim Ngugo Ikeduru local government area of Imo State who was alleged to have been engaged in defiling and sexually harassing young boys against their wish.

While parading the suspect at the command headquarters in Owerri the Imo State capital, the Police Public Relations Officer Imo State; Joy Elemoko said the pastor who has also been identified as a quack patent medicine dealer was arrested when the command ambush squad got wind of the information that the suspect lured his victim a 17 year old boy to his shop where he indecently and sexually assaulted him.

However, preliminary investigations disclosed that the suspect Mr Chinonso Obiaku is a secondary school dropout and has no record of religious training to qualify him as a pastor.

During interrogation by journalists, the suspect denied all the allegations levelled against him.

SAKA MADE MISTAKE PORTING TO MTN - CEO Etisalat

Saka Made A Mistake Porting To MTN-CEO Etisalat -
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Etisalat Nigeria, Steven Evans, yesterday described the decision of one of the artiste, Afeez Oyetoro, popularly known as Saka, to leave Etisalat and port to the “dominant operator,” MTN, as a “mistake.”

Speaking with reporters at Raddison Blue Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, during an interactive session on Mobile Number Portability (MNP), Evans disclosed that Saka’s decision was a mistake, arguing that it is not uncommon for people to make mistakes once in a while in life.

“Saka made a mistake. Sometimes in life, people make mistakes. He is still coming back,” he quipped without further explanation.

He was responding to a question bothering on whether the telco will re-examine its policy of not fully converting its artiste to brand ambassadors considering its experience with Saka.

Sources close to the artiste alleged that his promoters had passionately appealed to Etisalat to convert him to its ‘brand ambassador’ after using him for the activation of several ad campaigns that recorded resounding successes but the mobile operator turned deaf ears to these appeals.

The source said it made the suggestion to the telco several times without success, lamenting that rather than weigh the option on altar of reasoning, Etisalat preferred to pay him between N200,000 and N250,000 for each campaign and let him go.

The source said when MTN offered saka N20M, he did not wait for any further consultation before jumping at the offer.

Evans said several hundreds of subscribers have joined the Etisalat network since the launch of the MNP because of the high quality of services and innovative products it offers its customers.

Added to this is the lifting of the blanket ban the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) earlier placed on promotions and lotteries that ride on the network of all the operators.

It was gathered that Etisalat and two other operators were recently given the clean bill of health to do promo and lotteries on the network. The CEO said the development has enhanced its subscriber growth tremendously, adding that Easycliq, its flagship product, now has between 8 and 9 million subscribers.

He said the subscriber figures of Etisalat now between 15 and 16 million, adding that it has put in place infrastructure that will successfully accommodate 20 million subscribers without any problems

He disclosed that the telco was also investing massively on 3G to redefine end user experience in data services across the country.

In the three and a half weeks since Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan declared a state of emergency in three northeastern states, thousands of troops have been deployed and the military says it has cleared out several camps belonging to the militant group Boko Haram.
For the first time since all this began, journalists were allowed to visit the battle zone this week, including Heather Murdock who filed this story for VOA.
We enter the military plane from a ramp in the back and once on board, we write our names on the handwritten manifest, hoping this trip to northern Nigeria will answer a lot of questions.
Are Boko Haram insurgents still strong in northern Nigeria? Are there as few military casualties as they say? Have civilians been killed?
At an impromptu press conference, Brigadier General Chris Olukolade says definitively that civilians have not been killed, despite accusations from international organizations that Nigerian security forces are prone to shoot before arresting, and to make arrests without charges or trials.
"Anyone that was killed in a camp cannot call themselves a civilian. Most of the camps are populated definitely by terrorists and they're the objects of this operation."

Other questions he says he cannot answer, like how many soldiers or insurgents have been killed.
"The operation is still on and the information is being collated," he said. "In many of the locations we are still mopping up and until we finish mopping up it is wrong to give you any inaccurate figure because we know the implications of such figures to the international community."
We do get a glimpse into what Nigerian soldiers are facing when they take us to a campsite outside the Kirenowa village.
Hours away from the nearest city and far from the nearest road, soldiers guard what they say once was a Boko Haram hideout, a hot dusty patch of brush where they found burnt out cars, medical supplies and discarded clothing.
"So this is where they keep their injured," said a lieutenant colonel, who gave the journalists a tour. "They keep their injured here. They treat them here. They have a medical doctor here. And from the size you can see they have a lot of injured here."
Back at the base, soldiers say northern Nigeria is safe, or at least safer than it used to be. But the compound is heavily guarded and nearly everyone is wearing body armor.
After we leave the camp, the officers take us to Kirenowa, where locals gather at a military-led village assembly. One speaker points out that since farming was halted because of the offensive, they want the government or the international community to provide tractors so they don't lose this year's crops.
Ahmed, a resident, says he's glad Boko Haram has left the area. He says in their fourth year of insurgency, Boko Haram militants had permeated his town and were killing some people and extorting money from others. But now, he says, they have other problems because their farms have been left untended.
"Here too we don't have food. Any way we are getting the food is closed [off]. We don't have enough food."
Ahmed doesn't appear to be intimidated by the nearby soldiers, but he does fall quiet as an officer comes close. Some soldiers say Boko Haram fled when the military moved into the area. Others say the militants were "armed to the teeth" and put up a fight.
At the base in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital and the heart of the insurgency, one officer shows us scores of weapons and vehicles. He says the military has captured them from Boko Haram and shows us anti-aircraft guns and a pickup truck with a mount for a machine gun.
Security forces say Boko Haram, which has been blamed for thousands of deaths and says it wants to impose a harsh version of Islamic law in the north, became increasingly violent in recent months, and by May was occupying towns and villages in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States.
The military says it has captured hundreds of Boko Haram members since the offensive began, killed dozens more and retaken territories.
But on the first trip by journalists to the front, we were not able to visit hospitals, morgues or detention centers. And what people are facing in most of Nigeria's vast northeastern countryside largely remains unknown.
